Cool! Holga 135BC arrived

Good day for me. Holga 135BC arrived (). This 35mm Holga Black Corner is master of the shadowy vignette. It specializes in creating mysterious images with dramatic effect. The combination of the otherworldly mystique of the plastic Holga lens and the Black Corner’s unique masking effect – radiates an atmosphere of Hitchkockian suspense. Build on this effect by experimenting with the unlimited long and multi-exposure feature. Like the 35mm Holga it has two shutter and aperture settings and uses standard 35mm film and processing.

Overview of Holga 135BC
  • Size: 4.5" x 3" x 2.5" (11.5 x 7.5 x 6.5cm)
  • Weight: 6oz (170g)
  • Format: all 35mm film (colour negative, slide, b&w)
  • Lens: Plastic 47mm, f/8
  • Focus: manual zone focus with four distance settings
  • Approximate 35mm format equivalent focal length: 38mm
  • Aperture settings: f/8, f/11
  • Shutter speeds: 1/125, "B"
  • Flash: standard hotshoe
  • Rear mask for enhanced “Black Corner” Effect
  • Uncoupled advance & shutter release for multiple exposures
  • Standard tripod & standard cable release threads
  • Standard 35mm processing that can be done at any lab, supermarket, etc.
  • Holga 35mm Features
Looking forward to take my first shots with this toy camera!

Fatigue of material: Piece of crap but nice lomo shot

This is our dark and gloomy corridor. Shot was made with Lomo LC-A and some expired lo-fi Tesco 35mm film (afterwards I discovered it is some Kodak-like film) ASA 100. You can see a lot of craps (partly dust, partly film's shortcoming) and imperfection of lower part of film (it is softer). Simply fatigue of material.

Fuzzy, out, flat and unfocused Rizo

My friend called Rizo. We were in da bar and piffling with Lomo LC-A. Who cares the shot is NOT sharp. It was late afternoon with Fuji Superia 200.

My first developed shot with Lomo LC-A

It was very very sunny day (noon I think), not so far from centre of Brno. We were waiting for my parents to go to Fed Cup. Equipment: Lomo LC-A, Fuji Superia 200 35mm. Shot is cross-processed only.

My first photo made by Altix version I Type B (ca. 1954)

I know it looks strangely and funny but I like this shot. I made some corrections in Photoshop and slightly with Alien Skin Bokeh plug-in. Here is some info about Altix I type B camera from (Altix retrography): The body design of the Altix V is very similar to the IV except for the release button on the right hand side for the selftimer. When the release button are activated, the shutter cocking lever goes past and beyond the "B" setting and thus activates the selftimer.

The most important difference between the model IV and the V is of course that the model V offers interchangeable lenses. The lenses have a bayonett mount that is almost identical with the Exakta mount, but smaller in diameter, only 38mm across. So if you ever stumble across a lens that appears to be an Exakta lens at first glance, but is smaller in diameter it is most likely an Altix lens.

And at all: I have this lens and scanner (Epson Perfection V350 Photo). So... what do you think? Isn't it funny?

My first LOMO photoday. Bad day

Yesterday I made some shots with LOMO LC-A (thanks to @madciapka). But what suprprise? No "Lomo" (d)effect, minimal vignette. All photos are brihgt and smart. WTF? Where is (my) mistake, errors? Is LOMO LC-A really good camera? I made my shots @ Fuji Superia 200, no cross-processing and no SW adjustments. Please, if you know what to do, thank you very much.

I asked Mia too. Sure.
